To meet the challenge of adding more production equipment, a large West Australian Gold Mine set out to understand the direct relationship between adding more production equipment and the consequential effect this would have on baseline diesel particulate matter (DPM) levels.
The solution that was developed involved gathering enough data to establish a baseline.
This source data was then used within the organisation to apply adaptive management techniques to provide engineering and procedural controls around DPM outcomes in the workings.
